Wedding Festivities! 〰️

A quick rundown of our wedding schedule!

Note: All wedding events will take place at Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Island

Oct 2, Thursday

Haldi (Optional)

  • 3pm, Garden Area

  • The Haldi ceremony is a tradition that marks a joyous and auspicious start to wedding festivities. Known for its cleansing and purifying properties, Haldi involves applying a turmeric paste to the couple, symbolizing their preparation for holy matrimony. This ritual serves as a protective blessing, believed to shield the bride and groom from negativity as they embark on their new life together.

  • All white - Casual: Please come in casual white attire. Note: Prepare to be showered in colors, so please wear clothing that you’re willing to get a little dirty!

Welcome Dinner!

  • Poolside, time TBD

  • Join us for a relaxed, poolside dinner to officially kick off the wedding festivities! Think good vibes, good food, and plenty of space to mingle and catch up with all our favorite people.

  • Dressy Casual: Keep it relaxed yet polished! Think lightweight and breezy outfits perfect for an island evening by the pool. Sundresses, linen shirts, flowy skirts, or nice shorts are all great options—Sandals or casual shoes are totally fine!

Oct 3, Friday

The Catholic Wedding

  • 2pm, The Holy Family Chapel

  • A traditional Catholic Wedding Ceremony and a celebration of love and faith where we will exchange vows and make our lifelong commitment in the presence of God and you, our loved ones. The ceremony will include scripture readings, a homily, the lighting of the unity candle, and the exchange of rings as sacred symbols of our union.

  • Island Formal: Think elegant yet breezy! Lightweight fabrics are perfect for the island setting. For men, a barong, linen suit or dress shirt with slacks works well—ties optional. For women, lighter fabrics in Filipiniana or western style are great choices. Comfortable dress shoes or sandals that suit the setting are encouraged.

*Note: We request that you avoid wearing white or black.

Day 1 Reception

  • 6pm Cocktail Hour, 7pm Reception

    *Venue TBD

  • A relaxed evening to celebrate following the Catholic wedding.

  • Island Formal works perfectly for this evening as well (same as the Catholic ceremony).

Oct 4, Saturday

The Hindu Wedding

  • Garden area, Time TBD

  • The celebration begins with the vibrant and joyous Baraat, a lively procession with music and dancing to mark the groom’s arrival.

The Hindu wedding ceremony, held under the mandap, is filled with beautiful traditions and sacred rituals symbolizing love, unity, and the start of a shared journey. Key moments include exchanging vows, walking around the sacred fire, and tying the mangalsutra as a symbol of our union.

  • Island Formal: We encourage women to wear colorful lehengas, saris, or other traditional Indian outfits, and men to come in kurtas or kurta pajamas. Western attire is also welcome: flowy dresses or lightweight suits are great options.

As the ceremony will be outdoors in warmer weather, we recommend choosing breathable, lighter fabrics.

Day 2 Reception

  • 7pm at the Pavilion Tent

  • A high-energy celebration following the Hindu wedding—We’re looking forward to capping off our wedding festivities with music and dancing!

  • Island Formal works perfectly for this evening as well (same as the Hindu ceremony).

A note on wedding attire: We have laid out some recommendations, but ultimately—please come in whatever makes you feel good!
